Golf TV weekly

Off we go into 2006, hopefully all of you have good intents as far as your game is concerned. Personally, I want to end up in the very low 20ies, handicapwise, practise starts this wednesday.

Practising is also the only thing to do this week, as there isn’t really much to watch this week. Please note that “Abschlag” is moved back one hour in saturday!

Please excuse my ignorance, but I am curious about some of your
t-shirts. Schoner, ich bin nur der caddie and holzer, what do these terms mean?

Welcome to Golfers Delight, Untaunted Duffer.

It’s a little hard to explain, but I’ll give it a try:

Handicapschoner is a term for those guys that play a lot and practise, but seldmly play a tournament. When they play a tournament, their handicap doesn’t reflect their playing skills, so most of them walk away with the trophy and a score of 50 or 60 stableford points. Thats what you call a handicapschoner (“schoner” means “saver”)

“Ich bin nur der Caddie” means “I am only the caddie”.

Fairwayholzer: “holzen” is a (dialect) term for hitting something hard, “Holz” also means “wood”. So, a fairwayholzer is basically somebody that really lets it rip with the wood on the fairway.

    So, when do you order?

Say something!
