An interview with Geoff Ogilvy

Ok, ok, it’s been a couple of days since the end of the US Open, but I still wanted to share the interview with winner Geoff Ogilvy:

RAND JERRIS: It’s a pleasure to welcome to the interview room the 106th United States Open champion Geoff Ogilvy with a round of 72 this afternoon, 285 for the championship. There’s a trophy sitting here between us with some pretty special names, Bob Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer. Share with me what it feels like to know your name is going to be the next one on the trophy forever.

GEOFF OGILVY: It’s pretty hard to believe. Obviously you dream about winning major championships, and to actually have it happen…

Once it sinks in, it’s pretty special. It’s starting to sink in. It’s a pretty nice feeling.

Segway GT

Don’t get me wrong, normally I am an carrybag-golf-person. Only on tournaments I use my trolley. But the Segway Golf Transporter looks like something fun to ride around the golf course:

The Segway® Golf Transporter (GT) is our personal transporter configured to give golf enthusiasts a new way to cruise the course. With extended-range batteries, a golf bag carrier rack, and enhanced traction tires, the Segway GT provides the golfer all the tools needed to experience the game in a fun, unique way.

It seems that this thing is mainly intended for older golfers that do not want to sit in one of these ridiculous one-seater golf carts. Still, I’d love to test ride this Segway on a quick 18 holes on an empty course and maybe beat my personal 18 holes record time of 2:45 (on foot).
