Do your homework

Q. In view of the tough time you’ve endured the past two weeks, do you think maybe it’s time to reassess playing against the men?

MICHELLE WIE: Well, I just had a bad two weeks, that’s it. It’s no more, it’s no less. I just had a bad two weeks. I feel like I’m getting better and better, my game is progressing, my shots are actually going to the fairway now. My shots are feeling solid. I feel like my game is getting better and better over the last few weeks. I feel like with the help of David I’ve worked out a lot of things, and my game feels better.

Q. So does that mean you will be playing against the men?
MICHELLE WIE: Well, nothing has changed. These two weeks I took a lot of positives. I’m not going to give up.

Michelle, honestly, finishing dead last in two mens tournaments are a clear sign, that you do not belong there at the moment. Give yourself (and us) a break of one and two years and concentrate on the LPGA. Thank you!

How can she concentrate on the LPGA when she’s not entitled to play on that tour before she hits 18? She’s got to keep her nose to the grinder, she’s got no choice but 10 million reasons to keep trying her luck against the big boys – Nike and Sony will see to it that they get their ROI.

To the contrary, while in school until next spring she could get all the LPGA invitations she needs to keep herself busy. They are limited, but hey, she has qualified for some of the majors already. And they don’t count against those invitations. And of course, she can tgry again the men’s US Open and see how far she gets. That tournament will always give her a good measuring stick to see how well she stacks up against men. Looking back to her regional qualifyier this year, you might say: she could have seen, how little she has to offer. But now Leadbetter is blowing steam into her ears and she is beginning to think the world of herself. That from a person who is not old enough to sign important documents without her parent’s consent. I for one will ignore her, if she keeps on playing that badly.
