Well, here is a sweepstakes I’d love to enter, but it is only open to US residents. AT&T Caddie Call brings you the chance to be Camilo Vilegas caddie at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am coming up in february 2007. You’ll be presented with nine videos and at the end of each video you’ll have to answer a question. If you pass, you’re eligible to caddie. Good luck!
What do you do in winter just before Christmas before a golfers life gets too dull? Right, you play golf in whatever location possible. So, thanks to the Glenlivet Office Putting Challenge we converted the office today into a golf course. With the help of some accessories like a putting cup, putter and three pieces of felt (tee box, water hazard and bunker) we set up five different holes that made up our office golf course. Anything from a par3 to a par5.

Proper fan support was provided and my co-workers experienced a hard battle for the top two qualifying spots for the north germany regional qualifyer in Hamburg coming february. I had the lead for the first two holes, at the third hole we had a two-stroke-swing and Christoph took over. On the fourth I was able to recapture the lead by one stroke and despite a desastrous performance on the final hole - a par 10 as it seemed to us - I held onto the lead and won by one stroke over Christoph. We won ourselves a bottle of Glenlivet whilst all starters received their miniature bottle as a tee gift.
Christoph and I will now face the regional qualifyer before the grand finale in Berlin at the end of march. Plenty of time to practice then.
BBC just reported, that Paul Casey’s stunning hole-in-one at the Ryder Cup has been voted the RBS Shot of the Year for 2006. His four iron from 213 yards on the 14th at the K Club sealed his and David Howells 5&4 win over Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson.
“I knew I had struck it very well, turning it on the wind, but when the crowd erupted at the back of the green it was a bizarre moment.
“I didn’t want to celebrate too soon in case it hadn’t gone in.”
“That’s why you can see my delayed reaction before throwing my arms in the air. It was amazing.”
Second place went to Marc Warren for his superb approach to the final green on the last day of the Scandinavian Masters in August, forcing a play-off with Sweden’s Robert Karlsson which the Scot eventually won.
After our office christmas party yesterday I experience a shortage of words. Things in brief:

Congratulations, guys. I love Bernhards sentence after the award ceremony: “Luckily, the golfball doesn’t know how old I am.”
4-iron
An argument can be made for Woods and Paul Casey.Casey brought baseball vernacular to golf by hitting the first “walk-off” ace in Ryder Cup history. He used a 4-iron from 213 yards on the 14th hole as Casey and David Howell closed out a 5-and-4 victory in foursomes over Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson.
On one of the toughest holes at Royal Liverpool, Woods holed out a 4-iron from 209 yards on No. 14 at the British Open for eagle that sent him to a 65 and a one-shot lead. Give the edge to Woods, for earlier in the second round, he used 4-iron to chip up a steep slope and down a ridge to 3 feet for birdie on the par-5 fifth.
The Golf Channel has a nice golf year review by the club.
Edit: Another European Tour and PGA Tour review, also by the Golf Channel.
