Glenlivet Office Putting Challenge
After the qualifying tournament in our offices last december we were up for the regional qualifyer in Hamburg yesterday. The three best teams would qualify for the german final in Berlin in march.
Set up on two storeys in the Regus building on Valentinskamp we had to take on a 9 hole course consisting of par 2 to par 4 holes, totalling in a par 29 course. 26 teams played in flights of six people, the team with the least strokes would win. Tight corners and undulated carpet (!) made the course challenging and interesting. I blew our chances with a nine on the first hole, making contact with three obstacles. Highlight was the hole in one on the par 3 first hole, some 20 meters down a curved hallway. My score totalled in a 40, Christoph shot a 41 and our combined 81 secured us a tenth place. Six shots off the third place that would have sent us to Berlin. So we had to head back without a trophy, but the good fun was worth the trip. We’ll be back next year!
