PGA Championship Sunday

We watched the PGA championship sunday over at my golf buddy Martin’s place, proud owner of a Premiere sports package. First time I watched a major live. With Tiger so much in control all week we hoped for the other players in tht top four to put pressure on him to make it a little more interesting. Stephen “9&8″ Ames showed early, that he wasn’t capable of doing that. But Woody Austin and Ernie Els didn’t disappoint us.

Tiger wasn’t losing at at any point of the tourney, he really deserved the trophy. We we’re happy to see Ernie Els on top of his game and Woody Austin (I hope he washed that hawaii shirt in between tournaments) giving us some cheerful moments.

I hope Ernie keeps improving and gets his game back together like in 2004 (see his thoughts in the post-round interview), I’d really hope to see someone step us as a permanent rival to Tiger.

Oh, and congratulations to John Daly on not withdrawing, not missing the cut and making it into the money again. Despite his odd preparation for the tourney. Maybe he should do this more often.
