John Daly in second place at the PGA Championship after day one? Did I miss anything being on the road yesterday? Anyway, let’s hope John holds his act together over the coming days, here are some funny quotes from day one.

Last night I took my friend Harry to the golf course. It was actually his second contact with golf, last year we played already a round at GC Pankow together. It was really fun to see how easily he approached the game, absorbed the swing and just started playing.

I kind of caddied for him a little bit and gave him advice on club selection and swing execution and he did a beautiful job. The best moment came at th par 3 6th hole, measuring 132 meters. Harry hit 7i, landed the ball in the middle of the green and hat a six meter putt to the hole. He hit the putt nicely and took a good line towards the hole and with the last turn, it fell into the hole. In only his second round of golf, he had scored a birdie. Really impressive!

What happened at the 4th hole???

Playing GC Kallin last night, for the first time I was bored by the golf course. Fairways broad as airstrips (as Kiki would say),  bunkers that didn’t com into play and a rough that didn’t matter at all. The only remaining challenge is hole #2.

I was happy to play after more than 10 days without touching a club, the weather turned out to be gorgeous, I had nice company, but the thrill was gone. Also, the greens were in horrible condition, maybe the greenkeeper is on vacation. Hit the ball straight, you are in no trouble. Maybe I want to think more about ball placement and course management, but the course doesn’t give you anything to think about.
