Now THAT’S a Par 5

I just bumped into this stunning foto by Iwowen of this golf hole of Olde Beau GC in Roaring Gap, NC. The description reads as follows:

This ridiculous golf hole is a par 5 with a blind tee shot that leads you to the top of the hill. Good luck on club selection from thereon out. Got to be about a 200 foot drop to an “elevated” green.

Just the kind of hole layout that I love!

    Du wirst dann sicherlich auch Druid’s Heath in Irland lieben, Loch 12 dort. Das hat ein ähnliches Layout, ist sehr interessant zu spielen.

    The 473 yard 12th climbs into an uphill landing area. We can see it but nothing beyond the crest. A downslope, then moving right, leads to the green. The second shot is tension-ridden. It is long, at least 225 yards for most of us. A large spur of rough-covered ground juts in boldly from the left, forcing us to edge right, where a lake awaits. This shot is one of the most unforgettable – and unsettling – shots you will ever play.

    Und ich hab es geschafft, auf der ersten Runde dort ein Par zu spielen!
