The sun rose this morning at 6:47. I got myself a tee time at 6:30 to be able to play between 9 and 12 holes before our conference continued at 09:00. I had to play with my luminescent ball for the first three holes to be able to see where I was playing. The pouring rain made it even harder to find your way around. Good thing that I know Bad Saarows Arnold Palmer course by heart. Originally I intended to play the Nick Faldo course, but the greenkeeping crew would have been in my way. So Palmer was fine. I didn’t keep my score but concentrated on fighting the elements. I called it a wrap after nine holes to have some time for a hot shower and drying myself up and grabbing some breakfast. So I did something today to enhance my manliness factor. What about you?

Alle Berliner Golffans ohne Premiere-Abo müssen trotzdem nicht auf den Ryder Cup verzichten. Global Golf Berlin hat ein Public Viewing-Zelt eingerichtet, dort werden alle Matches des Ryder Cups übertragen, heute geht es um 14:00 Uhr los.

We played out last After-Work-Golf-round for this year last evening at GC Gatow. The favour of the golf gods was with us and it turned out to be a really nice round.

Hat Oliver Kahn dem Tagesspiegel im Interview gesagt. Im Detail:

“Was ist mit dem Golfspielen, mit Ihrem Ziel, Handicap null zu haben?”

“Handicap null ist kein Ziel, das ist ein Traum. Aber Golf wird irgendwann auch ein bischen öde und langweilig. Ich glaube, dass ich gar nicht mehr so viel Zeit dafür finden werde.”

Beneidenswert. Ich frage mich wie häufig ich spielen müsste, damit es mir zum Hals raus hängt. Im Augenblick fühl ich mich permanent unterspielt. Und unterhopft. Und überhaupt…ich bin schon wieder urlaubsreif!
