European Tour Shot of the Year Competition
Surely an interesting season it was this year with hard-fought battles of the course. Hard to pick the best shots of the year, according to the European Tour Website, these three are in contention:
- Graeme McDowell – Ballantine’s Championship, Day 4, 3rd extra playoff hole, Par 4, 2nd shot.
- Padraig Harrington – The 137th Open Championship, Day 4, 17th Hole, Par 5, 2nd shot.
- Padraig Harrington – US PGA Championship, Day 4, 17th Hole, Par 3, 1st shot

Say something!

I personally would think it would have to go for that shot by Grame Mcdowell played at the Ballantine’s championship in Jeju Island in Korea. It was a remarkable iron shot which came at one of the most trying times. Both Jeev Milkha Singh and Graeme matched each other shot for shot. Jeev made some incredible putts on the 18th in regular playand again on the 18th on the first playoff hole to extend the tournament. The third time they went on to the 18th, Jeev played his second shot on to the green to nearly 6-7 feet from the pin and on the very difficult finishing hole on that course It was a very good shot and he stood with a definite possibility of a birdie. From there Graeme Mcdowell surveyed the shot, didn’t waste too much time in addressing the ball and played it to within four inches of the cup. It was an outstanding shot, measured by any standard. Jeev who ws enjoying an incredible run, looked like the certain favourite in the playoff but Mcdowell pipped him at the post with what should undoubtedly go down as the shot of the year.
Play well
