New Years Eve Golf

What better way to end the year than with a round of golf on a freezing cold but sunny day. At -6° Celsius, the ground was frozen and covered in frost.

Frozen greens are tricky to play, the ball bounces of it like on a concrete cartpath. Playing low approaches was essential. But there are also some helpful situations like these that saves you the one or other stroke.

Check out the full foto set on flickr!

A happy new year to all of you!

It’s never too cold to golf

Blue sky, sunshine and -3° Celsius (+26.6 °F), what better weather to play golf there is? None, that’s what I thought when I went out to practice and play some holes at GC Pankow. And the place was really crowded, so I am not the only on who thought so! ;-)

The good news is, after not touching the club for six weeks, the balls still fly!

Decisions, decisions…

My trustworthy golf shop around the corner offers the 2008 Taylormade Burner Driver for 225,00 Euro and the new 2009 Taylormade Burner Driver for 449,00 Euro.

Is new technology really worth over 200 Euros more? Does it improve my game equivallently? Or is it better to save the 200 Euros on the driver and invest them in lessons with my pro?

What do you think?

Driving Home for Christmas

.. is the title of a neat little online game by Callaway, where you can win a bag of winter warming goodies - and a set of Callaway clubs. So, give it your best shot!

Playing Golf in America vs. Britain

Via Geoff Shackelford I ran into these entertaining rants from Alistair Tait about the differences of playing golf in America and on the other side of the pond.

Enjoy!
