Tree? What tree?

Charley Hoffmann didn’t have the start he wanted on his third round at Torry Pines. His first tee shot got stuck in a tree and he had to take a penalty stroke and fire shot #3 off the tee. I wonder if Bernhard Langer had played it differently.
