Matthias Ditsch
Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie will celebrate his 500th European Tour appearance at this weekend’s Andalucian Open in Spain. In his career so far, he has amassed nearly $32 million in career earnings, with a record 182 top 10 finishes and 8 European Tour Order of Merits since his debut in 1987. Monty will become only the 18th player in Tour history to clock up 500 starts.
Hope you stick around a while longer, Monty!

Many golf clubs around the world are beginning to encourage environmentally friendly cultivation of their golf courses. The Golfclub St. Oswald took it a step further and had their clubhouse designed as a zero energy consumption building. That left aside, I think the integration into the landscape is outstanding!
World Golf Tour is by far the most stunning online golf game I’ve encountered in terms of graphics. You play nine holes on the Kiawah Island Golf Course in a Nearest-to-the-Pin competition. You can choose from a full set of clubs, adjust swing type and swing speed and off you go. Replays from different camera positions make enjoying your last shot even better.
But beware: this could be a productivity killer! So don’t blame me if you don’t finish all the items on your to-do-list today.

“Martin came to Oceanside looking to get fit for a Titleist 909 driver. He likes to play a slight fade and he likes a fairly flat ball flight. We tested Martin’s old driver on the Trackman and found that it launched at 8.6° with 2758 rpm of backspin. When he hit a fade with this driver, we saw his backspin increase to over 3000 rpm. We knew we could get Martin more consistent backspin rates with a new 909.
The Titleistblog posted an interesting report on Martin Kaymers most recent driver fitting two weeks ago. Very detailed, but yet interesting, go check it out!
For the first time this year I wanted to head to the driving range for a lunchtime practice session. Global Golf Berlin always was the destination, only some 5 minutes away from my office. Arriving there today, I encountered a unfamiliar view:

Turns out that Global Golf Berlin went into bancruptcy the end of last year. After Golfzentrum Berlin-Mitte and Abschlag Ost, this is the third driving range that disappears in Berlin. Whats left is Airport Golf Berlin in Tegel and Golfer’s Friend behind the Berlin fairground. Not really an option for me. I’ll have to settle with office putting meanwhile.
