It finally happened!
One of the most interesting things in playing golf is, that even if you quarrel with the game for months, suddenly there is this one moment when everything (!) comes together in perfection.
When it comes to playing birdies, I’ve had my share on par 3′s as well as on par 5′s. Interestingly, most all of them were achieved chipping in from off the green. So, a good portion of luck was involved.
But not this time. We played the Vodafone Course in Gross Kienitz. The second hole is a shorter par 4, the small two-tiered green is well guarded by a pond.

My five iron soares off the tee, lands on the right side of the fairway and stops rolling after 230 meters. Never in my life have I played a better tee shot. I left myself 65 meters to the green, so the LW should do the job. Solid contact, trajectory directly pointed at the flag situated in the back of the green. Ball lands, short roll and stops one meter left of the flag.
Standing over the putt, the only thought on my mind was “Don’t fuck this up!”. I hit the ball too soft, but somehow it manages to plunge into the hole for my first birdie on a par 4. Tell you what? It felt sooo good!
Say something!
