Kangarila
Kangarila is a new golf game where a specially printed golf ball acts as a dice and determines what club you have to play your next shot with. You choose six clubs from your bag (wood, long iron, short iron, wedge, putter and your “super-club”). At each hole, each player tees off with a free choice of clubs (from the six carried), using their Kangarila golf ball. Before playing the next shot, each player examines the lie of their ball, with the top of the ball determining what club you must play next (read the rules here).
Here’s a film that shows how it is played.

During my friday round with Ecki, we played the last three holes Kangarila style. Here is Ecki trying to chip onto the 8th green with his three wood:
As fun as it sounded at first, it turned out to be a little drag. Playing a six iron out of the bunker or having to use the putter on the fairway (hey, I made it 60 meters) is fun at first, but then it just totally fucks up your score and you start losing balls pretty quick. And as the ball come at 5,00 € apiece, they are more expensive as your average Titleist Pro V1. And thats where it starts to hurt my swabian soul. My verdict: unless you are really, really bored with your game, don’t try it.
Say something!
